Eco Fan rocks!

Eco_fan The Eco Fan is a non-electric fan that sits charmingly atop a woodstove and, through the miracle of conduction and heat differentials, creates its own electricity.  The hotter it gets, the faster it spins, moving air around the room and vastly improving the efficiency of your wood stove.  Available in two sizes (circulating 100 or 150 cubic feet of air per minute) and starting at about $100, the Eco Fan is stocked at Home Hardware in Canada, and can also be ordered on the web.  Very cool technology, and whisper-quiet too.

Invent Energy Wood Stoves

Stove_and_tree_of_life_heat_shield_1 This morning on CTV's Canada AM I covered the Invent Energy wood stove, the newest technology in wood heat.  If you have questions about the stove, please contact the inventor (charliep@csolve.net).  The 1000 model (retails for about $960) heats 1000 square feet, the 2000 (about $1260) heats 2000 square feet.  Have a warm winter!

(For info about the Tree of Life heat shield, contact MC LaserWerks)
