At last - A beautiful energy saving lightbulb!

Gorgeous compact fluorescent design from European company Plumen - a huge improvement over the squat utilitarian style of most CFLs.  So far you can only buy these in Europe and the U.K. but I'll keep you posted; they say they'll start shipping to North America soon.

Newsflash: The UK is in Europe.

Thanks, Chloe. I differentiated between the two because the Plumen website has two separate ordering streams - one for the UK and one for continental Europe. Shipping to and from the UK always seems to involve higher rates, presumably because of the island factor.

Fair enough. In any case, I hope they're available stateside soon, they are pretty enough to hang with no covering I think.
